Dear Parents,

CISVA policy for all Catholic schools requires that any adult who will be supervising or driving any students is required to have a criminal record check (CRC).

This might involve helping drive for sports teams, volunteering for class field trips and would also include any Parent Participation positions that work during the school day such as supervision, library,  classroom helper and IC Hoopers.

The criminal record checks last for five years and are free to apply using an online tool. We'd recommend that all of our families take the time to apply so that you're available and permitted to help anytime you're available to volunteer. This is especially important if you have a child participating in sports in Grade 5, 6 or 7.

How to apply for a Criminal Record Check (CRC)

The Attorney General of British Columbia facilitates Criminal Record Checks for volunteers in the province. This allows for the sharing of CRC results between the organizations which require them for volunteering. Once a CRC has been completed, it can now be easily shared with other organizations such as soccer, swimming, Girl Guides etc. A CRC is free of charge and is completed online. Simply go to the web address below and use the access code specific for our school. Please do not share this code with any other person outside of our school community. The CRC takes very little time, and you will receive a confirmation of the result at the same time that we have it registered with us.

If you have any questions regarding the procedure, please contact Mr. Jacob at the school office.
